Singer Jeff Carson has exchanged his guitar for a Glock. The Curb Records artist, who scored a No. 1 in 1995 with “Not on Your Love,” is now a full-time police officer for the city of Franklin, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville. “Being in law enforcement was something that I’ve always wanted to do,” Carson says on his MySpace page. He added that he looked upon his graduation from the Tennessee State Police Academy in December as his “proudest moment.” A news release from the Franklin Police Department noted that he graduated with a shooting average of 99.6. Carson’s string of singles in the ’90s also included two Top 10 hits — “The Car” and “Holdin’ Onto Somethin’.”
